Pebble Beach is committed to minimising our impact on the environment. By taking small steps where possible we are constantly trying to reduce our carbon footprint and develop sustainable practices.
We will source products for the hotel as locally as we can to reduce energy waste in transportation, and support local businesses.
This will minimise energy consumption, waste and landfill. It should avoid unnecessary production and transportation of goods.
We will look at the lifecycle of everything that comes into the hotel, consider where it will go afterwards and whether this will have an adverse impact on the environment.
We will only deal with organisations that have high welfare standards.
We will be open and honest to our staff and customers.
Our food is fresh, seasonal and local where available. We only source food from producers with high animal welfare standards. Our Head Chef works with many small local producers in and around Dorset and the New Forest.
We have ales and cider from local micro-breweries and even a local Gin behind the bar as well as soft drinks sourced and made in the UK.
All our cooking oil and food waste is recycled, along with all glass, cardboard and paper products.
Low energy and /or LED lighting is used throughout the building. These have a much longer life span than traditional lighting, resulting in less waste as well as considerable energy savings.
